إن كتاب البحوث التجريبية وإختبار الفرضيات في العلوم التربوية والنفسية يقدم عرضاً تفصيلياً للمنهج التجريبي في البحث العلمي في ميدان التربية وعلم النفس وبنفس الوقت يدخل في تقديم تفاصيل طرق وأساليب إختبار الفرضيات لعينه واحدة وعينتين مترابطتين ومستقلتين وعدة عينات مترابطة ومستقلة.
ولم ينس الكتاب تقديم فصلين مهمين في أساسيات الإحصاء الإستدلالي ومقدمه في إختبار الفرضيات كمدخل لهذا الموضوع المهم، لقد تم تنظيم هذا الكتاب بشكل يسهل على الباحث والدارس إختيار الطريقة الملائمة التي تنسجم مع بحثه وأهدافه، فهو متسلسل في موضوعاته بدءاً من العينة الواحدة مروراً بالعينتين وإنتهاء بالعينات المتعددة، ويمكن للباحث أياً كان نوع بحثه أن يختار المكان الملائم من الكتاب لإختبار فرضيات بحثه.
يتألف الكتاب من ثمانية فصول، تضمن الفصل الأول منه أساسيات الإحصاء الإستدلالي بما يحويه من تصنيف للإحصاء إلى إحصاء وصفي وإستدلالي، وتحديد لمعنى المجتمع الإحصائي والعينة مع أنواع العينات الإحتمالية وغير الإحتمالية مع شرح للمتغيرات وأنواعها وموازين القياس وأهميتها مع توضيح للأساليب والطرق المعلمية واللامعلمية في الإستدلال الإحصائي وينتهي الفصل بشرح توضيحي للتوزيعات التكرارية وأنواعها.
ثم ينتقل الكتاب في الفصل الثاني إلى عرض تفصيلي للبحث التجريبي كأحد أنواع البحوث المهمة في العلوم التربوية والنفسية ويتطرق هذا الفصل إلى أنواع البحوث التجريبية كالتجارب المختبرية والتجارب الحقلية ثم ينتقل إلى العوامل المهددة للصدق الداخلي والخارجي مع نماذج مختارة لتصاميم البحوث التجريبية وشبه التجريبية.
ويستعرض الكتاب في الفصل الثالث بعض المفاهيم الأساسية في إختبار الفرضيات في البحوث التربوية والنفسية كشروط الفرضيات الجيدة وأنواع الفرضيات الصفرية والبديلة ومستوى الدلالة وأنواع الخطأ وقوة الإختبار مع عرض للإختبار ذي النهاية الواحدة والإختبار ذي النهايتين.
بعد ذلك ينتقل الكتاب في الفصول الرابع وحتى الفصل الثامن إلى شرح وتوضيح أساليب وطرق إختبار الفرضيات الإحصائية المعلميه واللامعلميه لعينه واحدة وعينتين مترابطتين ومستقلتين وعدة عينات مترابطة ومستقلة.
