يعتبر الإنجيل برسائله الأربعة (متى، مرقس، يوحنا ولوقا) ترجمة للسيد عيسى المسيح في مجموعة "العهد الجديد" وهذه الترجمة تمثل تعبداً لاهوتياً تجمع تعاليم السيد عيسى المسيح عليه السلام؛ ولكن هناك إهتمام برسالة لوقا وذلك مرجعه إلى كونها الرسالة الوحيدة التي تتكلم وتردي ولادة السيد عيسى المسيح، كما تعرض لصلبه وبعثه، كما أن فيها نصوص لم تر في "الرسائل" الأخرى وكثيراً ما تعرض للصراع اليهودي المسيحي.
هذا من ناحية، ومن ناحية أخرى فإن ما يشدّ في هذه الرسالة مسألة الخلق مما جعلها صورة لإبداع الكون وخلق الصراع بين الإنسان المخلوق والقوى "الإلهية الخالقة الكون"، إنها قصة الوجود العدم بين الأديان كلها، ولوقا إلى هذا حواري وتلميذ سيدنا عيسى عليه السلام هو لوقا الإنطاكي، الطبيب الأديب الذي جمع بين الثقافتين السورية والإغريقية محتضناً العبقريتين الآرامية واليونانية، ومما زاد في شأنه إهتداءه إلى المسيحية وإختياره من قبل الله ليدون أحد رسائل الإنجيل المقدس الأربعة، مكتسباً روح المسيحية المثلى.
وعلى الرغم من ذلك، فإن الإنسان العربي بعيد كل البعد عن هذه الرسالة كما عن باقي رسائل الإنجيل، فقد حدثت فجوة بين رسالة السيد المسيح عليه السلام التي نادى بها ومفهومها لدى الإنسان العربي، بسبب غربته، وذلك يعود إلى تبني الغرب للمسيحية، هذا التبني شكل لدى الإنسان العربي ردّة فعل عنيفة ضد المسيحية، أنسته أن سيدنا المسيح هو ابن التراث الشرقي.
من هنا، يأتي هذا الشرح ضمن سلسلة شرح الرسائل الأربعة للإنجيل وتهدف هذه العملية إعادة نصوص أو رسائل الإنجيل إلى مكانتها لدى الإنسان العربي ومحاولة شرحها بطريقة سلسة لإعادة مفهوم رسالة السيد المسيح عليه السلام إلى موطنها الأصلي حيث يجب أن تكون.
