"يا أمير البيان يا صنو أحمدْ، يا إمام الأحرار في كل مشهدْ، يا ربيع الزمان والعيش جدب، ومنار الأجيال والليل سرمدْ، كلما رمتُ ان أصور يوماً، عشت فيه وأنت لله تصعد، أخذتني مهابة منك حتى خانني منطقي وذهني تبلدْ، كنت في بطن فاطم خير أم؛ وأرادت تؤم أشرف مسجدْ، ومشيت نحوه تروم طوافاً فأتاها المخاض والباب موصدْ".
يجمع الشاعر "عفيف النابلسي العاملي" بين طيات هذا الكتاب مجموعة من القصائد الشعرية التي يعبر من خلالها عن حبه للإمام علي بن أبي طالب، منتخباً فيه ما يفيد هذه الشخصية ويعبر عنها بكل أنواع التعبير الملائم لها، كما وضمنه بعض القصائد الهاشميات التي يمتدح من خلالها آل بيت النبوة رضي الله عنهم.
