وعلى الرغم من كون المؤلف متعصبا ضد الاسلام والمسلمين بصفة عامة والعرب بصفة خاصة الا ان كتابه تميز بالقدم النسبي من حيث زمن تأليفه الى جانب ما يقدمه من رصد لعدد من الاحداث التاريخية للدعوة الاصلاحية وما يضمه من معلومات مهمة عن حياة العرب الاجتماعية في تلك الحقبة.
