هذا الكتاب عُني بإظهار خَصِيصة شريفة، وكرامة مُنيفة، انتَجب الله تعالى بها أمة الإسلام، وهي الإسناد، وأبان عن مكانة الإسناد الجليلة عند أهل السنَّة دون من سواهم، فهو عندهم ضروري لحفظ الدين لا ثقةَ بدونه ولا اهتداء.
فالإسناد للمؤمن كالسلاح للمقاتل، كما أنه بمقام الأجنحة للطائر، وبمثابة الأركان للبناء، وبمنزلة القوائم للدابة، وما ماثل ذلك من أشباه ونظائر تدل على علو القيمة وجلالة القدر.
