ظهر اتجاه في الكتابة الروائية الحديثة يغلُب اللغة الشعرية على العناصر الروائية الأخرى من أجل خلق تأثير سحري في القارئ يعوُض عن بساطة السرد والحديث والشخصيات.
وعلى الرغم من إعتراض بعض النقاد على هذا النوع من الكتابة الروائية التي تهدف، بحسب رأيهم، إلى التغطية على ضعف البنية السردية للرواية، عبر توظيف جماليات اللغة في تحقيق التأثير المطلوب في المتلقي، فإنني أعتقد أن الأديب إسماعيل مروة كان واعياً لهذا الأمر، وتعمُّد استخدام هذه اللغة الشعرية الشفيفة التي تفتح على تأويلات مختلفة للدال على وفق مستوى القارئ.
ويمكن أن تعبِّر المقولة التالية عن حالة شغف وأدهم بطلي الرواية، أصعب الأشياء أن تبقى حبيساً بين حلمك وواقعك، لا واقعك يحتمل ولا حلمك يكتمل.
