الشاعر محمد علي الصياد ، الباحث عن ( الأصدقاء ) في زمن قلّ فيه الوفاء ، يحمل قلقه وأشواقه وعذاباته التي لا تنتهي ، إلى الشعر ، فالكتابة هي مفتاح عالمه الشعري والأزمة الوجودية هي محور هذا الشجن الطاغي المندلع كالحريق في قصائده ، بدءاً بـ " زفير القيامة " ومروراً بـ " قمر وحيد " ، و " إن كل ذلك النخيل " وحتى آخر قصيدة في الديوان " ربما فصول " هذه القصائد تمثل ذات الشاعر بكل ارتعاشاتها وانكساراتها وصدامها الوجودي ، لتكشف بكل ما فيها من معانٍ ودلالات عن شاعرية متميزة لغة ووعياً شعرياً وموقفاً إنسانياً من كل ما يجري في هذا العالم اليوم .
في القصيدة المعنونة " الأصدقاء " يقول الشاعر الصيّاد :
" ( ... ) الأصدقاء ذاتُهم / يحتفلون بالإنكسارات الرحيمةِ / وأهازيجُ عاصمةٍ / غفا في دمها صهيلُ الترابِ / للترابِ رائحةُ المسكِ / وعنفوانُ النبوءاتِ / جسدٌ يخط على المشابرِ / وجعَ الصباحاتِ / أنينُ الثكالى ، وجلُ الأطفال / نشوة الهزائم / بينما الهواءُ يشاغبُ كراسَ الجغرافيا / وصحيفةٌ أهملها القراءُ / صفراءُ كبياضِ الشمسِ / ذاتهُم / والمساحةُ توشك أن تسبقنا / حتى المنام الطازجِ / شمعةً شمعة " .
يضم الديوان ثلاثة عشر قصيدة في الشعر العربي الحديث جاءت تحت العناوين الآتية : " زفير القيامة " ، " قمر وحيد " ، " أنا كل ذلك النخيل " ، " خرط القتاد " ، " أقاليم " ، " فخارة دلمونية " ، " ذاكرة الملح " ، " حواءات " ، " نصل " ، ( ... ) وقصائد أخرى .
