لاستشهاد أبي عبد الله الحسين حرقة في قلوب المؤمنين الذين لا تنطفئ لوعتهم ولا تتوقف عيونهم عن سكب الدموع حزناً لفقد سبط رسول الله، والحاج باسم الكربلائي، أحد الذين عرفتهم المنابر الحسينية إذ شدا بصوته في المآتم والحسينيات وواصل عمله بجد ومثابرة ما انعكس على طرق أداء التواشيح الدينية وشاعت قصائده بين جماهير المتشوقة إلى رثاء آل البيت في مختلف أنحاء العالم وقد تميز بقدرته على انتخاب أفضل القصائد وأجودها وفي هذا الجزء يقدم المؤلف نخبة من القصائد التي قرأها على المنابر الحسينية وهي مهداة إلى الإمام الثاني عشر الحجة بن الحسن العسكري صاحب العصر والزمان.
يضم الكتاب ستة أبواب: الباب الأول يضم قصائد باللغة الفصحى، أما الباب الثاني فخصص لقصائد السرور في مختلف البحور، في حين حوى الباب الثالث قصائد من الشعر الملمع، وضم الباب الرابع قصائد في مختلف الأوزان، أما الباب الخامس فيضم قصائد مربعات وضم الباب السادس الأبوذية والموال.
