يتضمن الأطلس خمسة أبواب رئيسة تندرج تحتها كافة محتوياته وهي: البيئات في العالم: وهو القسم الأول، ويقدم معلومات متنوعة ومبسّطة حول البيئات على كوكب الأرض من قارات وصحارى وجبال وأنهار وغيرها، تشكّل موطن الكائنات الحية على إختلاف أنواعها.
"الظواهر الطبيعية": يتناول هذا القسم أهم الظواهر الطبيعية التي تعرفها وتؤثر بشكل مباشر في حياة وأساليب عيش الإنسان على الأرض، مثل الأمطار، البرق والرعد، التصحر، الزلازل والبراكين وغيرها الكثير مما يحمل الخير أو الدمار والخراب، وقد قدمت هذه المعلومات بطريقة ميسّرة وسهلة ومدعمة بالصور والرسوم التوضيحية.
"أفعال الإنسان": يكتسب هذا القسم من الاطلس أهمية خاصة كونه يقدم للطفل أهم الأفعال والنشاطات التي يقوم بها الإنسان وتضر بالبيئة من حولنا، مثل: إستخدام الأسمدة الزراعية والصيد الجائر والإنحباس الحراري الذي يحدث نتيجة إنطلاق غازات الإحتراق الضارة إلى الغلاف الغازي، بالإضافة إلى بعض الأفعال والنشاطات الإقتصادية الاخرى التي تساهم بشكل كبير في إفساد هذا العالم الصغير الذي نعيش فيه، كإهدار المياه وتجريف التربة وتسريب البترول وغيرها.
"البيئة الحيَة": في هذا القسم نقدم عرضاً لأهم الأسباب والمسبِّبات التي تجعل من البيئة الحية من حولنا في خطر دائم، فالإنسان لا يعيش وحده على الأرض، بل مع أشكال متعددة من الحياة، تمثلها النباتات الطبيعية والحيوانات بكافة فصائلها، وهي بيئة تقع علينا مسؤولية الحفاظ عليها ورعايتها.
"إستغلال مصادر الطبيعة": في هذا القسم الأخير من الأطلس قدم المؤلف جملة من المعلومات المفيدة المدّعمة بالصور والرسوم حول إستغلال مصادر الطاقة في الطبيعة.
