تعاني الدولة العربية من أزمة حكم لازمت سياق تطورها السياسي منذ الإستقلال بالرغم من كل محاولات التغيير والتحديث والدمقرطة التي شهدتها وحاولت إدخالها على بنيتها السياسية، إذ عجزت تلك البرامج والسياسيات في تعزيز وتطوير الحياة السياسية كونها جاءت بمحاولات جزئية أو شكلية أو ظرفية أو براغماتية لم تمس جوهر المشكلة وأبعادها الحقيقية ولم تتوصل إلى تأسيس مجال سياسي حقيقي وحديث مبني على مقتضى السياسة المدنية المعاصرة.
من هنا، جاءت أهمية البحث في هذا الموضوع، حيث تتبع أهمية هذه الدراسة التي بين يدينا من الناحية الأكاديمية والسياسية إذ يتعلق بتبيان أسس الأزمة التي تعتري النظم الجمهورية في المنطقة العربية وإنعكاس تلك الأزمة على الحياة السياسية، من خلال الكشف عن الإشكاليات التي تثيرها طبيعة ومضمون وآليات توظيف البنية السياسية لتلك الأنظمة في ممارستها السياسية.
وبناءً عليه، انتظمت الدراسة في مقدمة وأربعة فصول، فضلاً عن الخاتمة، جاء الفصل الأول بعنوان (طبيعة بنية الدولة للنظم الجمهورية في المنطقة العربية، أما الفصل الثاني فجاء بعنوان (البنية الدستورية للنظم الجمهورية في المنطقة العربية)، بينما عنون الفصل الثالث (البنية الحزبية للنظم الجمهورية في المنطقة العربية)، في حين عنون الفصل الرابع والأخير (البنية السياسية للنظم الجمهورية العربية في الحياة السياسية)، وأخيراً جاءت الخاتمة متضمنة أبرز الإستنتاجات الأساسية التي توصل إليها الباحث.
