أحمد راشد ثاني (مواليد حي المديفي، خورفكان عام 1962م ـ توفي في أبو ظبي يوم 20 فبراير 2012م)، هو شاعر وباحث تراثي وكاتب مسرحي إماراتي.
سيرته
ولد أحمد راشد ثاني في حي المديفي في خورفكان بإمارة الشارقة سنة 1962، (أو 1963 حسب مصادر أخرى) وكان أبوه يعمل في البحر، فأهداه في صغره كتبًا تراثية كان لها أثر كبير على ثقافته. بدأ كتابة الشعر في سبعينيات القرن العشرين، بتشجيع من الشاعر السوري محمد الماغوط، الذي كان يعمل آنذاك في الشارقة.
كتب ثاني قصيدة النثر، كما اهتم بجمع التراث الشفاهي وتدوينه، وكان يرى أن منطقة الجزيرة العربية تطفو على كنز من التراث الشفاهي. وقد عمل ثاني في المجمع الثقافي في أبوظبي.
نُشرت أشعار ثاني في عدة صحف ومجلات في الإمارات وخارجها، وشارك في محافل ومهرجانات شعرية وأدبية عربية وعالمية.
مؤلفاته
وضع أحمد راشد ثاني 17 كتابًا، بين الشعر (8 مجموعات شعرية) والمسرح والدراسات التراثية.

للسرد دوره الأساسي والمهم في المجتمعات التي لم تترسخ فيها الكتابة ولم تسد، من حيث تنظيمه وتعميقه للتواصل مع الذات والآخر، وللأسف لم تهتم الثقافة العربية وخاصة في المجتمع الخليجي بهذا الشكل من أشكال القول الشفاهي، أي عالم الحكايات، رغم أنه عالم فاتن وغني ومليء أكثرمن غيره بأكثر الدلالات ميثولوجية ولغوية وسوسيولوجية. وإلا جمل حمدان في الظل بارك هو الجزء الثالث من مشروع يجمع حكايات من الإمارات، ويحاول تقديمها بشكل جديد، يحتفظ بعالمها الشفاهي قدر المستطاع من جهة، ويدونها بشكل يناسب الصفحة المكتوبة من جهة آخرى، إضافة إلى شرح المفردات وإرجاعها إلى أصولها في المعاجم العربية المعروفة، إن الهدف من مشروع كهذا هو لفت الانتباه إلى هذا الكنز المخبوء في ثقافتنا، كما وأن يترك قارئ هذا الكتاب نفسه للانصات والقراءة الهادئة لتلك اللذة الخفية الكامنة في الروي. ويرافق صدور هذا الجزء كتيب تحولت فيه ثلاث حكايات من حصاة الصبر إلى حكايات مصورة. والحكايات المجموعة (أوردنا اسم الجامعة مختصرا عند كل حكاية) متفاوتة المستوى من حيث التدوين، إحدى عشرة منها مدونة باللهجة المحلية، وتسع حكايات أخرى مدونة بالفصيح.
