اورهان كمال ١٩١٤ ـ ١٩٧٠هو من الأدباء الأتراك المعاصرين . ولد في جيحان . واسمه الحقيقي محمد رشيد أوكوتجو . عاش أياماﹰ قاسية حين هرب والده إلـى سـورية لأسباب سياسية . وفي الثامنة عشرة من عمره عاد إلى تركيا. دخل الحياة الأدبية بكتابة الشعر في الصحف والمجلات، ثـم اتجـه إلى كتابة القصة والرواية . وبدأ يكتب بشكل دائم في صـحيفة "Varlık ـ الوجـود " .وبإبداعـه لروايتيـه "Baba Evi ـ بيـت الأب "و"Ekmek Kavğası ـ نزاع على الخبز " طارت شهرته . وبكتابة مذكراته بعنوان:"Nazim Hikmetle Üç Buçuk Yıl ـ ثلاث سنوات ونصف مع ناظم حكمت" .رسخ مكانته في الحيياة الأدبية التركية.

كانت نوافذ البيوت والقصور وكثير من الأبنية لا تزال تشع منها أضواءٌ باهرة في الشرفات والحدائق كانت لا تزال تتعالى همسات رجال ونساء.
من الواضح أنهم كانوا يلعبون لعبة البوكر أو الطاولة أو البيزيك ما عليهم!... فليلعبوا طالما لا يؤذون أحداً.
لقد عملوا وملكوا هذه القصور والأبنية بعرق جبينهم، الله سبحان وتعالى يسبغ نعمه على كلّ من يكدح ويعمل، ما أولئك الذين نفخ في وجوهم غاضباً قبل قليل، والذين يقطنون بيوتاً ممدة على جنبها أو متربعة أو جاثية أو مسرعة إلى الإستناد على متكأ حين تداعت للسقوط، فإنهم لو عملوا لكان الله سبحانه وتعالى قد أنعم عليهم كغيرهم من العباد إلا أنهم كسالى خاملون عاجزون.
تحسّس مرتضى ياقته دون سبب، وسوّى سترته بأن سحبها يميناً وشمالاً، ودخل إلى الشارع الإسفلتي الذي ينبسط بين بيوت العباد الذين أكرمهم الله تعالى بنعمه، كانوا أسراً راقية، لا يملك إعتراضاً عليهم، وكان بوسعهم أن يسهروا حتى يسفر الصبح، أو يلعبوا، أو يعزفوا.
فلم تكن تشغلهم لقمة العيش، كما أنهم يعرفون ربهم ونبيهم، فهم عباد الله تعالى المخلصين، ولو كان أولئك المواطنون الشريرون الذين يقبعون في الشوارع الداخلية، أحبّاءَ الله عزّ وجلّ، لكانوا الآن يتقلبون في صنوف النعيم كما ينقلب أحبّاء الله تعالى هؤلاء في قصور باذخة وأبنية فارهة!...
