وللإجابة نقول: إن التاريخ هو عجلة كبيرة سائرة بحركة إلى الإمام دون توقف وإن مصطلح الحاضر هو مصطلح نسبي جداً، فنحن لا نستطيع أن نعيش لحظة محددة ونعدها حاضراً لأن مجرد نطقنا بعبارة (نحن نعيش هذه اللحظة) فقد غادرتنا هذه اللحظة إلى غير رجعة، لذا فالمستقر عندنا هو الماضي والمستقبل - رغم أن كلاهما متحرك - فالماضي يبتعد عنا بمقدار إقتراب المستقبل منا وذلك بفعل حركة الزمن التي لا تتوقف.
وبناء على ما سبق فقد كان للذين كتبوا سابقاً (فلسفتهم التاريخية)، فإنهم كتبوها لماضٍ وحاضر ومستقبل غير الذي نعيشه نحن، لذا يجب أن تكون الكتابة في فلسفة التاريخ متواصلة ومستمرة إستمرار الزمن وحركته".
