تشير دلالة العنوان "حبر وحجر" إلى فنانة وشاعرة وكاتبة في نفسي الوقت. إنها الشاعرة "لور كيروز" ابنة بشري-لبنان، تستدرجنا في باكورة أعمالها نحو فضاءً إنسانياً يرتكز على مفردات تلك العلاقة الأزلية بين الرجل والمرأة (بتناقضاتها وتكاملها) وبعيون الذات/ الشاعرة المنبعث من أدق التفاصيل.
تعتمد قصائد الشاعرة على مباغتات شعرية ذات منحى حكائي، حافظت خلاله الشاعرة على الإطار الزماني والمكاني لتشكل تلك العلاقة، تقول "في منطقة الكسوف المالحة/ طريقنا الخريفية تتحفَى/ رغيفنا يرفخ في عروق الخميرة/ أشجارنا شاخصة تندس مع المطر/ تتخصب بالخواتم المائية/ ترتطم بلهاث الأصفاد (...) أنا وأنت؛/ وهذه المرَة تكرهنا عيون الحجر!/ يتخلَى عنا طرف النَاي!/ تابوت العهد يسحقَنا/ نمكث في ظلال الموت،/ حتى يمحونا الحلم ويرسمنا من جديد!". بهذا النفس الملحمي تأتي القصائد بصفتها تعبيراً عن "الذات الإنسانية" وهي تصغي لتجربة مرورها في هذا العالم.
يضم الكتاب (24) قصيدة في الشعر العربي الحديث جاءت باللغتين العربية والانكليزية نذكر من عناوينها: "صمت الكلمة"، "أنا وأنت حبر وحجر"، "شال جدتي"، "رقصة الطيور"، "وتركتك تحترقين"... الخ. قدم للكتاب الدكتور بولس طوق.
