وُلد عبد الله بن أحمد بن كاظم بن محمد بن يوسف اليوسف بتاريخ 20/8/1383 هـ الموافق 6/1/1964م في «حلة محيش» إحدى قرى منطقة القطيف في المنطقة الشرقية من المملكة العربية السعودية. نشأ الشيخ عبد الله اليوسف نشأة دينية عالية برعاية والديه، وقد عرف عنه منذ صغر سنه تحليه بالتقوى والأخلاق، وكذلك بالذكاء والفطنة، وكان مولعاً بالعلوم الدينية، مما جعله طموحاً للدخول في سلك علماء الدين، وهذا ماتحقق فعلاً في حياته المباركة.

يضيء هذا الكتاب على مسيرة حياتية لمرجعية متميزة هو "السيد أبو الحسن الموسوي الأصفهاني (1284- 1365هـ- 1866- 1945م) والذي كان من أشهر مراجع التقليد في النصف الأول للقرن العشرين.
وفي هذا العمل يأتي المؤلف على دراسة هذه الشخصية ويكشف أبعادها، وقدراتها الكبيرة، ومؤهلاتها المتميزة في عدة جوانب مهمة كالإجتهاد في الفقه وأصوله، والقدرة على إدارة المجتمع، وقيادة الأمة، والتأثير على مسار الأحداث السياسية، والتركيز على قيم العلم والعقل والفكر والتعاون وغيرها من القيم الإسلامية الأصلية التي تجلت في شخصية هذا المرجع الديني الذي قال عنه محمد أمين الإمامي الخوئي "... محدث، بليغ التتبع والإحاطة في الفقه، مستقيم الذهن، حسن السليقة، وسيع الفكر، وكان جيد البيان، جميل المعاشرة، ممدوح السيرة".
هذا، وتتناول الدراسة في الفصل الأول أخلاقيات ومناقب السيد أبو الحسن الأصفهاني، أما الفصل الثاني فقد ركزت على بعد مهم من أبعاد شخصية المباركة، ومسيرته العلمية الرائدة وهو العمل على تعزيز قيمة العلم واحترام كافة العلماء فقد ترك الأصفهاني بصمات واضحة وقوية ومؤثرة في هذا المجال ما يؤشر على أهمية الدور الذي لعبه "الموسوي الأصفهاني" فكان هذا الكتاب ... جدير بالقراءة..
