قد يبدو من البديهيّ، أن تتّخذ الحقوق، في أبعادها، منحى علم الإجتماع، وربما يبدو، كذلك، من الطبيعي، أن يتطرّق علم الإجتماع إلى شرعة القوانين والدساتير والأنظمة.
لكنّ للموضوع، في أدقّ تفاصيله، حجماً آخر، يتخطى مواد القانون، ويذهب إلى أبعد من مرامي السوسيولوجيا.
كيف؟ هذا هو حجم الإنسان، المُدين والمُدان، القاضي والسّارق، المدّعي والمدّعى عليه، أفليس من غريب الظواهر، أن يقف الإنسان أمام أخيه الإنسان، واحد على قوس القضاء، وآخر في قفص الإتهام؟.
ربما هذه الظاهرة الإنسانية بالذات، هي التي حدت بعلم الإجتماع، أن يمدّ يده إلى مواد القانون، ليجعل منها وازعاً لا رادعاً، ولكي يعيد الإنسان إلى حجمه، قبل أن يستحيل آلة بشرية.
وهنري ليفي برول، لا ليُعرَّف، هو الذي فجّرت مؤلفاته ينابيع السوسيولوجيا، فكانت البواكير التي أعطت هذا الميدان غير إبداع في غير حقل.
أما صدور كتابه هذا، بالعربية، فضوء آخر للقارئ العربي، الذي يغوص اليوم، كما لا من قبل، إلى أعماق الإنسان الذي فيه.
