إن المسرح، أو على الأقل في الشكل الذي أتنا به من الغرب، كان منذ إنطلاقته في بلاد الإغريق، من خمسة وعشرين قرناً، مأساة الإنسان ومساحة للحياة، ويعبّر فيها الفرد عن معاناته وهواجسه المصيرية بوساطة الكلمة (To be or not to be...)، أو الموقف، أو المشهد المتجلّي في مضمونه الواقعي.
في المقابل، مسارح الشرق الأقصى، في الهند مثلاً، غالباً ما هي دراما كونيّة يظهر فيها، في أطر وأساليب تحكمهما الرموز، آلهة تتجسّد كلما اهتزّ نظام الدنيا، واضمحلّت القيم، وحُرِّفت الشرائع، وذلك لمناهضة الشر، ونصّرة الخير وبعثه من جديد... أو، كما في اليابان، دائرة للموت يجنح إليها قلّة من الأحياء ليلاقوا أشباحاً من أزمنة غابرة.
أما نحن، في هذه المساحة الحضاريّة المفصليّة، حيث لا يوجد تراث مشهديّ ذات دلالة نوعية، فلا نزال نبحث عن نمط، أو أشكال مسرحية تظَهّر او تعبّر عن نظرتنا للأمور... وكلّ ما أنجز عندنا حتّى الآن مجرّد محاولات، بعضها جريء، وبعضها الآخر مبتدع، ولكنّها في نهاية المطاف، تنحصر في إطار تجارب ناسخة لإبتكارات الآخرين.
"رحلة مُحتار إلى شْري نَغَار" قد تخرج عن المألوف، أو على الأقل تطمح إلى ذلك، بغية الغوص في منعطفات الإدراك والبصيرة، في سعي حلوليّ لتجاوز القائم والمتعارف عليه إنْ على صعيد الشكل أو الإدراك أو المفاهيم.
