ومما يثير الإنتباه أن كثيراً من الباحثين - قدماء ومحدثين، لم يعنوا بهذه الظاهرة عناية تستحقها، وتتناسب مع عظيم أثرها، وخطورة نتائجها.
من هنا، جاء هذا الكتاب ليضم دراسة شاملة تتناول المناهج المتبعة في تأليف الكتب النحوية، والمسارات التي مسلكتها، وتعتمد منهجاً إستقرائياً يتتبع الباحث فيه مراحل التطور في تلك المناهج، ويسعى إلى توحيد السمات والخصائص المتشابهة وتمييزها مما يغايرها ويختلف عنها، وتحديد الإتجاهات أو المذاهب المتبعة فيها فضلاً عن تشخيص حالات إبداع الإبتكار، وتمييز المبدعين والمجددين من غيرهم في هذا المجال أو ذاك من مناهج التأليف النحوي.
