لا شك في أن "فاكهة هتلر المفضلة" المقصود بها هي الحرب ولا شيء غيرها، في هذا الكتاب يكشف المقدم المهندس البحري / فاضل عبود عن التأريخ الكئيب لألمانيا، وأسرار لم ترد في كتب التاريخ الأخرى، فيبحث في معركة الآردين وبلجيكا واللكسمبورغ في المرحلة الأولى، ثم يكمل في المرحلة الثانية إحتلال فرنسا ورفع العلم النازي سواستيكا على برج إيفل يوم الرابع عشر من حزيران (يونيو) 1940م.
وبناءً على ما تقدم جاء الكتاب في بابين، ضمَّ الباب الأول ثلاثة فصول، ناقش الفصل الأول ثلاث قضايا: إحتلال هولندا وبلجيكا وشمال فرنسا من العاشر من مايو 1940- الرابع من (يونيو) 1940، وعمليات الآردين الأولى، وخطة المشروع الأصغر أو حركة المنجل، في حين ناقش الفصل الثاني قضية حصار دنكرك وإحتلالها سنة 1940، وناقش الفصل الثالث سير عمليات الآردين وإجراءات الحكومة الفرنسية عند بدء الهجوم الألماني، ورسالة مولوتوف إلى هتلر وإجراءات هتلر بعد الإحتلال.
