يعيش الملك ” بيان ” مع عائلته ورعيّته في مملكته بأمانٍ واطمئنان، إلى أن قُتِلَ على يد عدد من الجواسيس وأسروا زوجته من دون أن يعرفوا أنَّها الملكة ” أشجان “، لأنَّهما كانا متنكّران بملابس قرويّة. وفي قرية من قرى المملكة يوجد ولدان يتيمان هما: ” سيف ” و” صلاح “، ربّاهما رجلٌ عجوز تربية صالحة، الذي طلب منهما أن يرسلا الطعام إلى سجينة بكماء. بعد وفاة العجوز، ذهب كِلا الولدين إلى المدينة حيث قابلا الأمير ” نوّار ” الذي قدَّم لكليهما المشعل كعربون ثقة. تُرى مَنْ منهما يستحقّ ثقة الأمير؟ وهل سيكتشف الأمير أنَّ أمّه ما زالت حيّة ولكنّها سجينة؟ وكيف؟
