للإلحاد ونظرياته وشبهاته خطر على الفرد والمجتمع ، لذلك لا بد من الرد بأدلة عقلية على وجود الخالق ، من هنا انبرى الكاتب فاضل عمار الجليحاوي إلى وضع كتابه " رد أوهام الملحدين " ويتضمن نظريات وآراء وشبهات الملحدين فيما يتعلق بنشأتي الكون والحياة والرد عليها ، ونشأة الكون من وجهة نظر إسلامية .
الكتاب محاولة لتعريف القارىء بأسباب الإلحاد بالخالق وأسباب إنكار الدين ، والإجابة عليها بصورة غالباً ما تكون مختصرة وبسيطة ومفهومة ، بعض الأدلة عقلي وبعضها يعتمد على المعطيات العلمية الحديثة مثل ( الخلية تشهد على وجود خالق ، الضبط الدقيق للكون ، ... " بالإضافة إلى ذكر بعض الإشكالات التي يطرحها الملحدون والإجابة عليها ، كما تم التطرق إلى نظرية دارون ونقاط ضعفها وانتقادها ، مروراً بالقول بوجود الروح عند الإنسان والأدلة على ذلك . كما تطرق الكتاب إلى نظرية الإنفجار العظيم وأدلتها وكذلك نقدها ، باعتبارها أشهر نظرية في العصر الحاضر . وأخيراً شرح الكتاب نشأة الكون من وجهة نظر إسلامية ، إذ أن الخالق يخبر رسوله عن خلقه للكون ، عن طريق الوحي ، ليكون دليلاً مؤيداً لنبوته ، وليكون هذا الكون العظيم دليلاً على عظمة خالقه .
