في كتابه حول " الأنثروبولوجيا القرآنية " يركز الشيخ ليث العنابي حول أهمية علم الإنسان القرآني ، فيسد ثغرة معرفية لم يهتم بها التراث الإسلامي ، إذ أن علم الإنسان ( الأنثروبولوجيا ) لم يلقَ الإهتمام المناسب لدى المراكز البحثية العربية والإسلامية ، لذلك تعد هذه الدراسة رائدة في هذا الحقل المعرفي ، كونها تذكر بعض ما هو موجود في القرآن الكريم من إشارات تتوافق - معرفياً - مع علم الأنثروبولوجيا . أما الهدف العام لهذه الدراسة فيتركز حول محورين :
أولهما ، الكشف عن الجانب الإعجازي في القرآن الكريم ، في تناوله للحقائق العلمية ، ووقوفه على محاور علمية مهمة اشار إليها القرآن الكريم بدقة متناهية .
وثانيهما ، إبراز الجانب الأخلاقي في القرآن الكريم ، والنظم الأخلاقية التي رسمها للفرد المسلم هذا الكتاب العظيم والتي تحيط بكل شيء تقريباً ، فما من طرح إلا والجانب الأخلاقي ملازم له .
من هنا يأتي هذا الكتاب محاولة لكل ما يمكن أن يحقق الفائدة في المجال ( الأنثروبولوجي ) من جانب ، وفي المجال ( القرآني ) من جانب آخر ، حيث تناولت مادته محورية الخطاب القرآني ، وموضوع الأخلاق العلمية ، وعلاقة الأنثروبولوجيا بالعلوم الأخرى كعلم الأحياء ، وعلم الإجتماع ، وعلم الآثار ... كما تناول الكتاب إتجاهات دراسة الأنثروبولوجيا ، وفروعها ، لينتقل بعد ذلك لموضوع القواعد القرآنية ودورها في التأسيس للقضايا العلمية ... وموضوع خلق الإنسان وتطوره في المنظور القرآني كما تطرق إلى نظرية النشوء والإرتقاء ... وموضوعات أخرى ذات صلة .
