يحتوي هذا الكتاب الذي بين يدينا والذي هو من إعداد الدكتور "هاني سليمان الطعيمات" على دراسة تحليلية نقدية لنشأة الأباضية ولموقفهم من التعصب المذهبي. في البداية تم التعريف بالمذهب الإباضي ومن ثم تمت دراسة نشأة الإباضة ومدى صلتهم بالخوارج، بعد ذلك تمت تحديد نظرتهم إلى مذهبهم وإلى غيره في المذاهب المخالفة لهم. وأخيراً تم إلقاء الضوء على مدى تعصب الإباضة لمذهبهم.
هذا ونود التنبه مسبقاً أن هدف هذا الكتاب ليس الانتصار لمذهب على حساب آخر وإنما هدفه إلقاء ضوء كاشف وبنية سليمة على حملة من القضايا التي كانت مدار خلاف بين الإباضة وبين مخالفيهم من أتباع المذاهب الأخرى، وذلك بدراستها دراسة تحليلية نقدية بالاعتماد أولاً على ما جاء في المصادر الإباضة ثم المصادر الأخرى بقصد كشف الحقائق نبذ التعصب وإظهار للحق.
