حينما يفتقد الناس الميزان الحق الذي لا تتأرجح به الأهواء ، ولا يغيب عنه شئ فإن الناس يتخبطون ويكونون في أمر مريج ؛ لأنهم يرجعون في وزنهم للأشياء إلى أهوائهم وإلى ما كان عليه آباؤهم الظالمون الجاهلون، وحينئذ تأتي هذه الموازين الجاهلية بالعجب في : تناقضها ، وظلمها ، وقصورها ، وجهلها ، وتقلبها، واعوجاجها؛ يقول سيد قطب - رحمه الله تعالى - : " فلا بد إذن من ميزان ثابت ترجع إليه بالأعمال ، ولا بد من قيم معترف بها نقيس إليها المعروف والمنكر. فمن أين نستمد هذه القيم؟ ومن أين نأتي بهذا الميزان؟
من تقديرات الناس وعرفهم وأهوائهم وشهواتهم ، وهي متقلبة لا تثبت على حال؟ إننا ننتهي إذن إلى متاهة لا دليل فيها ، وإلى خضم لا معالم فيه!
فلا بد ابتداء من إقامة الميزان ، ولا بد أن يكون هذا الميزان ثابتا لا يتأرجح مع الأهواء . هذا هو الميزان الثابت هو ميزان الله "
