تقول الكاتبة: "... هذا الكتاب هو عن تجربتي مع الفقد، يشرح لحظات ألم عشتها بفقد عزيز من أغلى ما أملك وهو "ابني عبيد"؛ وفيه تفسير لبعض مصطلحات الحزن وملحقاته، ونبذة عن حياة فقيدي، ورسالة أوجهها لكل أم فقدت عزيزاً، وأقدم إعتذاري إذا سبب لكم هذا الكتاب شيئاً من الحزن وأدمع أعينكم".
