بين الوهم المريح إلى الحقيقة المرّة، تتأرجح رواية "لن أكون أنا" للكاتبة كوثر الجابري، لتحكي قصة شاب يعاني من حالة نفسية، يقبع في مستشفى ويرسم بخيالاته عالماً موازياً لعالمه الواقعي، والسبب غياب الأم في حياته طفلاً، وكانت بشاير التي كفلته وأشرفت على علاجه هي الشخصية التي رسم من خلالها عالمه الوهمي، ليراها مرة حبيبة وزوجة، ومرة أخرى أماً حنوناً.
الأمر الذي أقلق زوجته سمر من كثرة ما ردد طارق عبارة بشاير غير مكترث لموت ابنه "يبكي ويصرخ بإسم بشاير... ابنك مات وأنت تردد بشاير... بشاير... ماذا فعلت بشاير بحياتك... حتى تهمل ابنك هذا الإهمال... وليس ابنك فحسب... حتى معي في بعض الأحيان تناديني ببشاير... الله سينتقم من هذه البشاير... هي من أخذت عقلك وقلبك وأبقت لي جسد رجل...".
في الرواية، تستخدم الكاتبة تقنيات متنوعة، وهو تنوع يتناغم في وحدة النسيج الروائي، ولعل الملاحظة الأولى التي تستوقف القارئ هي طغيان الحوار على السرد، والإسترجاع والتذكر حتى لكأن الرواية سيناريو لفيلم جاهز للتمثيل، أفرد للتذكر حيزً كبير، يتناول ذكريات معينة تتعلق بالشخصية والمكان والظروف، فتدخل الذكريات والوقائع في علاقات تواشج وتفاعل، وتعقيد وتشابك بين الشخصيات، غير أن ظهور شخصية البطلة في (النهاية) كشف عن بعض خيوط الرواية التي تركتها الروائية مفتوحة ومتروكة لتفسير القارئ وكان شيئاً إيجابياً كانت الرواية بحاجة إليه لتحقيق روائيتها "لم تنتهي "كوثر" من رواية قصتي... لكنها اكتفت بأن تروي لكم هذا القدر المليء بالأفراح والأتراح... بجنون الحب... بعذاب الفراق... بهزيمة لم أضمن للنصر أن يكون حليفها!... لذلك... "لن أكون أنا"... حليفةٌ للحب!!".
