هناك دراسات كثيرة عن المجاز سواء في اللغة أو القرآن الكريم، فمن تلك الدِّراسات التي تناولت المجاز في القرآن الكريم واللغة كتاب (المجاز في اللغة والقرآن الكريم بين الإجازة والمنع) للدكتور عبد العظيم المطعني إلاّ أنَّ المطعني قد ألَّف كتابه للرُدَّ على شيخ الإسلام ابن تيميَّة (728هـ) وتلميذه ابن القيِّم (751هـ).
ولعلَّ من أهم الدِّراسات التي تناولت المجاز بموضوعية وإنصاف متحرر من الهوى والتَّعصب كتاب (المجاز في البلاغة العربيَّة) للدَّكتور مهدي صالح السَّامرائي بَيْدَ أنَّي لا ادّعي الفضل أو السَّبق في تناول هذا الموضوع؛ لأنَّ هناك من سبقني في ذلك إلاّ أنَّ الدِّراسة حاولت جاهدةً أن تحقق لها مكانةً من بين تلك الدِّراسات من خلال تناول الموضوع بإتّجاه يختلف عن ذلك الدِّراسات المتقدِّمة مع الإقرار بالإفادة منها جميعاً بما يخدم موضوع الدِّراسة.
وقد مهّدت لهذا الموضوع بتمهيد احتوى على ثلاثة محاور، الأول: اللغة بين التَّوقيف والإصطلاح، وثنّيت بالكلام على نشأة المجاز، وثلثتُ بحديثي عن التأويل ذاكراً التأويل الباطل والتأويل الصَّحيح والتأويل في الكتاب والسُّنَّة ومعنى التأويل عند المتقدِّمين والمتأخّرينَ.
وقسّمت هذا الكتاب على فصلين تناولتُ في الفصل الأول: الصِّفات الخبريَّة وهي سبع صفات وهي الصِّفات التي جاءت عن طريق الخبر من الكتاب والسُّنَّة ولا تتعلق بمشيئة الله تعالى وقدرته.
وتناولت في الفصل الثاني: الصِّفات الفعليَّة وهي ثلاث عشرة صفةً متسلسلةً حسب ترتيب الألفبائي مرجحاً في كل صفة القول الموافق للصواب والصِّفات الفعليَّة.
