ومن أجل أن يحقق الكتاب هدفه فقد قسم إلى فصل تمهيدي وخمسة أبواب وقد تضمن الفصل التمهيدي تعريفاً بعلم الإقتصاد ومفهوم النظرية الإقتصادية الجزئي منها والكلي وتعريفاً بطرق البحث الإقتصادي وعلاقة علم الإقتصاد بالعلوم الأخرى والقوانين والنظم الإقتصادية وتعريفاً بالمشكلة الإقتصادية وبعض المفاهيم الخاصة الأخرى لتكون أساساً ينطلق منه الطالب إلى مواضع أكثر تخصصاً.
كما تم التطرق في الباب الأول والثاني والثالث إلى المواضيع التي تدخل في موضوع الإقتصاد الجزئي الذي تتكون عناصره أساساً من العرض والطلب والأسواق لأنه يتناول المشكلة المتعلقة بتكوين الأسعار.
