ثمة فارق في المنظور المنهجي بين الفلسفات التي تبلورت في "أيونيا" عن تلك التي تبلورت في "إيليا"، ويمكن إبصار معالم هذا الفارق في إنصراف الأولى نحو البحث عن أصل تفسّر به صدور الكائنات وتشكلها، بينما ناهض الإيليون هذه الرؤية الناظرة إلى الوجود كصيرورة لها أصل وإبتداء.
استهل المؤلف دراسته، لاتي تصدر عن مركز نماء، ببيان أوجه الإختلاف الكائن بين تأويلات الفلاسفة والمؤرخين، والنظر في مسارات التفلسف المتباينة بين الأيونيين والإيليين، ومثّل على ذلك بالإشارة إلى مقدار التباعد بين تأويل "برنت" وبين تأويل "ريتر"، وذلك فيما يخص تحديد ماهية التفلسف الإيلي في كليته المذهبية.
اختار بوعزة، على مستوى التأويل الكلي، النظر إلى "الإيلية" كفلسفة تجريدية أنطولوجية، مناقضاً بذلك الإختيار لموقف القائلين بوجوب إدراج الإيليين مع الفلاسفة الفيزيائيين، ثم استفاض الطيب في الإجابة عن سؤالات موقعية "كزينوفان" في جغرافيا الفكر الإيلي، وهي السؤالات المشكلة التي سعى بوعزة لتفكيكها، وأبرزها في عنوان الدراسة "كزينوفان والفلسفة الإيلية"، حيث جعل من هذا الإفراد له بالذكر تمييزاً لعلاقته بالفكر الإيلي، وإيحاءاً بجدة التوصيف الذي اقترحه لإعادة ترتيب تلك العلاقة، بيد استطرد لاحقاً في إعادة قراءة شذرات كزينوفان للإجابة عن سؤال نوعية فلسفته، هل هي توحيدية أم تعددية.
وانتقل بعد ذلك بوعزة للحديث عن "برمنيد" بوصفه مؤسساً لنظرية الإيون، ثم تقييم المنتج المعرفي لــ "زينون" و"ميليسوس"، وتحليل مخرجاتهما وأفكارهما الفلسفية.
وبهذه الدراسة الخامسة، التي يقدمها مركز نماء ضمن سلسلته النقدية لتاريخ الفكر الفلسفي الغربي، يكون قد أضاف لبنة جديدة في بناء هذه السلسلة المهمة لتطوير وتنمية العقل العربي الفلسفي المعاصر.
