فهذا الكتاب يحوي تاريخ القضاء ما بين الجاهلية والدولة المرينية وآخر عهود الأندلس غرباً، وجعل المؤلف في آخر الكتاب خلاصة تبين متممات القضاء (كالحسبة والمظالم والشرطة وقضاءي الرد وأدب القضاء)، مع بيان مسيرة القضاء الإسلامي على شكل نقاط من أجل التأكيد على الأمور المشتركة بين البلاد العربية الإسلامية.
