تعتبر علاقة قطب العروبة بقطب الإسلام - أتساقاً وخللاً - من أهم المسائل التي تسود وتسوس مسار حياتنا بصفتها - تكاملاً عضوياً - الرافعة الكبرى والفعالية الفذة التي تفجر الطاقة تحت خطى النهوض والتقدم.
ونحن نقول قطبين لأن هذين القطبين هما - على سبيل الإستقلال - الركن الركين لمقوم حياتنا وهويتنا الحضارية والإنسانية، وذاتنا وماهية وجودنا الإنساني.
زد على ذلك فالقول بأن العروبة قطب تم التطفيف من شأن الإسلام والعكس، هذا الأمر لا يجعلنا أمام منظومة، بل مجرد حيال قطب واحد أساس والآخر فرع وتابع، وهذا ما يتعارض مع شهادة التاريخ والإبداع الحضاري الذي هو ثمرة تفاعل العروبة والإسلام، منوهين بأن النظرة المتزمتة المدللة بقطبية الإسلام دون العروبة والعكس، هي ثمرة نشظي جدلية عروبة / الإسلام ومنظومتها المتسقة خلال الإبداع الحضاري، ومن ثم فاللجوء إلى الحسم التاريخي من قبل أحد القطبين في مواجهة الآخر، وهو حسم لا يظهر إلا في حال التحجر التاريخي، أو التوتر التاريخي أو الفعل الخارجي الذي ضرب كثيراً على هذا الوتر.
وللسبب المذكور فقد كانت تلك الإشكالية تحتل الصدارة في سلم الأولويات والإهتمام لدى الأوساط الثقافية والسياسية، وكان أيضاً مادة ثرة للباحثين والمفكرين من أبناء أمتنا، وقد تناولتها حفراً وتنقيباً المذاهب والأفكار والإتجاهات السياسية والعلمية الكبرى في هذا الوطن.
وحقيقة الأمر، قد تعددت أنماط تلمس هذه العلاقة وفحصها ورصدها بين أصحاب النزوع التلفيقي والتأصيل المنهجي التوفيقي إضافة إلى المواقف المتسمة بالحسم في إنكار أي إتساق بين هذين القطبين، كما يتضح الأمر لدى بعض مظاهر الإسلام السياسي أو لدى الإتجاهات التقريبية الإنغماسية المنبهرة - إغواءً - بحضارة الغرب.
ونحن هنا أمام محاولة جديدة في بحث هذه العلاقة الهامة والتي يتوقف عليها مصير أوطاننا، في وقت لم تكن فيه أوطاننا على مثل هذا من تخلف وتطرف وعدم إتساق وطني وقومي.
