كان مقدراً لعلاء الدين أن يعيش حياة مخاطر ومغامرات. فقد حدث في أحد الأيام أن وقف رجل غريب الدار غريب الهيئة يراقب علاء الدين وهو يلعب في الشارع مع رفاقه. كان ذلك الرجل، في الحقيقة، ساحراً شريراً من بلاد جنستان، وقد جاء طمعاً بالحصول على مصباح عجيب مدفون في باطن مغارة مسحورة. لكنه لم يكن يستطيع أن يحصل على ذلك المصباح العجيب وحده. فباب المغارة لم يكن يُفتح إلا على يدي فتى بعينه، هو، بطبيعة الحال، علاء الدين حكاية رائعة تناقلتها الأجيال وأحبها الأطفال.
حكايتي المفضلة، سلسلة من الحكايات الرائعة التي صمدت على مر السنين، فتعاقبت الأجيال على تناقلها والاستمتاع بها، جيلاً بعد جيل. زينت الحكايات برسوم ملونة ساحرة تستثير خيال الأطفال وتحببهم بما يقرأون. وكتبناها بلغة عربية صحيحة مشوقة، وضبطنا نصوصها كلها بالشكل التام وحرصاُ على أن يقرأها الأطفال قراءة صحيحة، فيسهل عليهم فهمها، ولعلّهم يكتسبون، بالإضافة إلى ذلك، ملكة القراءة السليمة.
