نريد بهذا الكتاب إبراز المشكلات البيواتيقية المتعلقة بالجسد بالنظر إلى التكنولوجيات المعاصرة وإعادة القيمة للجسد أي بعبارة أخرى للشخصية البشرية وعموماً "للإنسان" الذي تحكمت فيه التكنولوجيات وصيرت جسده مثل الآلة تحذف وتزيد وتعدل أجزاءه حسب الطلب والحاجة والرغبة مما جعل الإنسان ينسى أنه يتعامل مع أخيه الإنسان.
فاختيار البحث بعنوان "فلسفة الجسد في الأخلاقيات البيولوجية" كمبحث في البيواتيقا 1 لم يكن تركيباً اعتباطياً والمقصود به، هو جعل الجسد ماثلاً من جديد أمام الفكر لاستحضار موضوعات خارجية وداخلية في الجسد البشري ولو كانت في حالة غياب وعدم وجود أو كانت عينية، يعني إننا سنهتم بما هو كائن وما سيكون بالنسبة للجسد البشري في الأخلاقيات البيولوجية.
