إن موضوعات كل من كتب الفن والموسيقا والدراما - ذات أهمية في مجال تنمية الإبداع لدى الطفل، ولذلك حرصت كثير من الأمم المتقدمة في مجال العلم والمعرفة أن تدخل هذه الفنون في مناهجها المدرسية لما تنطوي عليه موضوعاتها من أهمية في تغذية خيال الطفل، وتأهيله ليكون قادراً على إستيعاب ما يحيط به من مظاهر الحياة بشكل يتناسب مع عمره العقلي.
إنّ ما طرأ على الحياة المعاصرة من تطوّر، يلحّ علينا أن نهتمّ بأطفالنا في مجالات الإنفعالات المختلفة، لا سيما أنَّ الإنسان بحكم طبيعته يميل إلى التعبير عن إنفعالاته وأحاسيسه المختلفة بطرق متعددّة، كالفن والموسيقا، والكتابة، والشعر، والتمثيل.
وقد يتمّ ذلك بشكل مفرح، أو بشكل محزن، ولهذا لا بدّ من تصميم مناهج مدرسية تحدد مرتكزات مجالات هذه الفنون.
إنَّ كتاباً يتضمن مثل هذه الموضوعات، يعدّ من الكتب الهامة للطفل بإعتباره مدخلاً للتأثير على جوانبه النفسية والتربوية، كما يعدّ وسيلة لمساعدة العاملين في مجال الإرشاد التربويّ: فمن خلال ما يكتسبونه من خبرة في هذه المجالات، فإنّه يمكنهم أن يتعرّفوا شخصية الطفل بصورتها العامّة.
