دراسة علمية جامعة عن الإمام الحافظ شمس الدين محمد بن عبد الرحمن السخاوي المصري، أحد أعيان أئمة الحديث في القرن التاسع الهجري وأوائل العاشر، تتناول نشأة الإمام وسيرته وشيوخه وتلاميذه وأقرانه، وجهوده في علوم الحديث تأليفاً وتدريساً، بحيث استوفى الباحث التعريف بمؤلفاته، ثم أفرد بعض تلك المؤلفات بالدراسة مستجلياً منها المنهج الحديثي للإمام السخاوي، معرفاً بطائفة من آرائه واختياراته، وتابع بعد ذلك منقباً في مؤلفات السخاوي التاريخية، معرفاً بمجموعة مختارة منها، مسلطاً الضوء على بعض آراء الإمام فيها كذلك. والدراسة بالجملة غنية بالمباحث الماتعة، تسير وفق المنهج العلمي في البحث وتميل إلى الاستيعاب.
