مدهش كيف يعمل العقل، وأشد نماذج السلوك بساطة تتمثل في كيف لنا أن نصدر أحكامنا على الأشخاص إستناداً إلى ما يصنعون، لكن هل بإمكانك أن ترى الحقيقة في النهاية؟ يمكنك أن نغوص بحثاً عن الإحتمالات في أين ولماذا وماذا كانت نوايا المرء وهو يقدم على فعل شيء؛ فيما الآخرون يضحكون بإدعائهم إمتلاك حاسة فوق طبيعية في قراءة الأفكار.
لكنما أيضاً بالمقابل هنالك نقر ممن ولدوا وهم يمتلكون موهبة الإحساس بمعاني إيقاعات وإشارات لغة الجسد، في مسعى لفهم أفضل للإنسان الذي هم في حضرته، لكن لا بد من الإقرار بالحقيقة، لسنا محصنين ولسنا رجالاً أو نساء خارقين في مواجهة مهمة مستحيلة، نحن لسنا إلا بشراً نسعى لفهم أفضل لما يحيط بنا من متناقضات.
منذ نعومة أظفاري، كنت مثل شخصية بينوكيو، الباحث الدائم عن تفسير، كانت "لماذا" دائماً حاضرة على طرف اللسان، لماذا تدور الأرض؟ ولم يقدم الناس على إرتكاب حماقات خرقاء كما يجعلوا شخصاً ما يشعر بأنه خاص؟ ولماذا نجد أنفسنا نقف بثبات حيث نحن فيما الأرض تدور من حولنا بسرعة فائقة؟ وقد أمكن لي الحصول على إجابات لبعض أسئلتي، لكن بعض تلك التساؤلات ظلت دون إجابة.
يمكن لك أن تسميها الآم النمو، أو حماس شاب في مسعاه لأن يستزيد من المعرفة بطريقته الخاصة، مدفوعاً بهاجس المضي قدماً للإحتفاء بحياته؛ لكن الزمن لن يترك أحداً في حال سبيله.
وعلى إمتداد فترة زمنية كان ثمة متعة وكان ثمة ألم، كان ثمة ضحك وكان ثمة لا شيء، كان ثمة فقد للأصدقاء وللأحبة وأولئك الذين كنت تعتقد أنك غير قادر على أن تحيا من دونهم؛ إنما، وبكل أسف، قد مضى كان ذلك وتجاوزت نقطة اللاعودة وليس من سبيل للتراجع.
