إن الحج أحد أركان الإسلام الخمسة، بل هو خامسها، وهو امر من الله تعالى أوجبه على عباده من عهد سيدنا إبراهيم عليه السلام، إذ أمره أولاً ببناء البيت الحرام.
وقد قام سيدنا رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم بأداء هذه الفريضة قبيل الإسلام على سنة سيدنا إبراهيم الخليل عليه السلام حتى إذا كان نبياً أداها فرضاً إسلامياً لمرة واحدة، وذلك في شهر ذي الحجة من السنة العاشرة للهجرة أي قبيل وفاته عليه الصلاة والسلام بثلاثة أشهر تقريباً، وهي التي سميت حجة الوداع، وقد خطب فيها خطبته الشهيرة التي أتى فيها على قوانين دينية ودنيوية تتعلق بالرجال والنساء على حد سواء.
ولما كان الحج ركناً من أركان الإسلام فقد كان له شروطه وأركانه، وهذا ما يتناوله صفحات هذا الكتاب بطريقة سهلة وميسرة...
