عرَّف «النورين» فقال: (هذا جزء محتاج إليه، نافع ـ إن شاء الله تعالى ـ مَن عوّل عليه، اخترته واختصرته، ومن كتب شتى جمعته، وعلى ثلاثة أبواب قسَّمته: فالأول منها: في أمور الدنيا خاصة، مجموع من كتب عامة. والثاني: في أمور الآخرة، أكثره من الرياض العشر. والثالث: من «الصحيحين» أو من أحدهما).
فلا عجب بعد ذلك إن رأينا أهل العلم والصلاح يحرصون على إقرائه وقراءته، ويرون جزيل النفع في مطالعته ومدارسته، فهو روضة غناء غنية، ودوحة علم يافعة رضية.
