يبدأ الكتاب بتمهيد تاريخي للفترات التاريخية التي مرت على العالم القديم خلال أكثر من عشرة قرون يمر على العصور الرومانية ، والعصور اليونانية ، والسلالة السلوقية ، والسلالة البطلمية ، والسلالة الساسانية الفارسية مع لمحة سريعة عن بعض شعوب العالم القديم . ثم يتبع ذلك بالفصل الأول عن ( بلقيس ) ملكة سبأ ، يليه الفصل الثاني عن ( سمير أميس ) أو ( سمورامات ) ملكة بابل وآشور . أما الفصل الثالث فهو عن سيرة إليسا ، إليسار ، ديدو ، ديدون مؤسسة قرطاجة وملكتها . بينما يحط الفصل الرابع عند ( كليوبترا ) ملكة مصر ويوليوس قيصر ، كما يضيء الفصل الخامس حياة ( جوليا دومنا ) الحمصية ، أما الفصل السادس فهو لـ ( زنوبيا ) ملكة تدمر . ويأتي الفصل السابع ليسلط الضوء عل الملكة ( ماوية ) ملكة العرب التنوخيين ( ملكة الأزد ) والملك الحواري زوج ماوية . وأخيراً يعقد المؤلف مقارنة بين ماوية وزنوبيا .
