يهدف هذا الكتاب إلى التعريف بالنهضة الحسينية. ويأتي استكمالاً لما جاء في كتاب "نزهة القلم" وعلى النسق نفسه والمنوال ذاته يأتي كتاب "إشراقة البيان" الذي يضم هو الآخر قراءة ومراجعة لعشرين مجلداً من الموسوعة الحسينية في أبواب متفرقة ويحوي كل مجلد مقالة لعلم من الأعلام يستعرض خلالها فهمه الخاص أو يبدي رأيه في شخصية الإمام الحسين رضي الله عنه، أو تصوره عن دائرة المعارف الحسينية، ولذلك حرص المؤلف على ترجمة الشخصية وبيان السيرة الذاتية للكتّاب وبخاصة أن كل واحد من هؤلاء هو علم في محيط عمله ورمز بين بني جلدته وقومه ودينه، فكان من بين المترجمين المسيحي واليهودي والمسلم بمختلف المذاهب وتنوعها، من قبيل: البروفيسور فابريزو بن أنجيلو بينا كيتي وهو إيطالي الجنسية ، والدكتور يوسف بن يهودا دانا من أسرة يهودية، والمفتي العلاّمة عبد الرحيم رشيد الباكستاني الجنسية ... وغيرهم ممن كتب مقدمة في الموسوعة الحسينية.
وبناءً عليه، يقوم الكتاب في مجمله على ثلاثية: السيرة الذاتية لصاحب المقدمة الأجنبية، ثم بيان النص العربي للمقدمة بعد ترجمتها من اللغة الأم، ويليهما متن الدراسة أو القراءة لأجزاء الموسوعة.
