لقد اشتهر في المشرق والمغرب بين المسلمين شأن أربعة أقطاب صوفية واحدهم السيد الشيخ أحمد محيي الدين أو العباس الكبير الرفاعي الذي جمع المصنف في هذا الباب أكثر مناقبه وأحواله وكراماته وأقواله وسلوك طريقته ومدارك حقيقته وقد رتب كتابه هذا على عشرة أبواب كانت على التوالي: 1-ذكر نسبه الطاهر، 2-كيفية ولادته ونشأته، 3-ذكر أخلاقه وسيرته، 4-في ذكر كراماته العليّة وبعض ما منّ عليه به من مواهب، 5-في ذكر وقوفه عند حدّ العبودية والتزامه في صحوه وغيبته بالآداب المحمدية، 6-في بعض كلماته الشريفة الجوهرية، ومجالسه، 7-في أدعيته المباركة وأحزابه وصلواته على النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم، وهي معروفة بين السادة الرفاعية وغيرهم لحصول الفرج وحل العقد ودفع الضرر والكرب، 8-في ذكر مشايخه وآداب طريقته وعلو مسلكه وعلاقته، 9-في ذكر بعض أعيان ذريته ومشاهير أصحابه وأتباعه وأهل طريقته، 10-في ذكر بركة التشبث بأذياله الفاخرة، وفيه ذكر جماعة من أخوانه الأولياء أهل السرائر الظاهرة رضوان الله عليهم أجمعين.
