"وبعد دقائق من المشي على غير هدى، مررت بجوارِ محطةِ القطار.. لتخطرَ ببالي فكرةٌ غريبة! قررتُ أن أصعدَ على متنِ أولِ قطارٍ يقفُ في المحطة! لا يهمني إلى أين يذهب.. ولا متى سيعود.. كل ما أعرفه هو أني أريد أن أشاهد القرى والمدن المجاورة وأنا على متن القطار، ولن أترجل عنه حتى يعود بي هنا! لا أدري لماذا أحسستُ بأن ذلك سيريحني ويخمدُ نارَ القلقِ في رأسي".
