كانت الستينيات من القرن الماضى فى مصر- ولاسيما قبل نكسة 1967- زمن الاحتشاد فى الشوارع، وفي شرفات البيوت للتلويح بالمناديل للرئيس جمال عبد الناصر فى أثناء مروره فى سيارته المكشوفة.. زمن الاستعراضات العسكرية، والاحتفالات الرياضية للشباب فى الاستادات، تسبقها مواكب الأعلام والشعارات.. زمن أهازيج النصر والأناشيد الحماسية قبل نشرات الأخبار وبعدها.
وفي هذه السنوات الساخنة- وعلي وجه التحديد فى السنوات ما بين عام 1963 حتى نهاية عام 1966- كتبت مسرحيتي هذه التى أضعها اليوم بين يدى القارئ الكريم. وبذلك فهى مسحرية "ستينية" أى مسرحية تنتمى إلى ستينيات القرن الماضى شكلاً وموضوعاً، أفرزها المناخ السياسى والاجتماعي لهذه الفترة، وهو المناخ الذى صممه ومرره جمال عبد الناصر، فجاءت معبرة عنه مؤكدة تفاعلها معه.
