وقد حاولت حصر أوصاف الكون ـ انطلاقا من النصوص المقدسة ـ في أربعة أوصاف كل واحد منها معراج من معارج السلام، ورقية من رقى السعادة.
وهذه الأوصاف الأربعة هي: الحياة، والعبادة، والتسخير، والمقروئية. فمعرفتنا بالكون الحي تشعرنا بالأنس، وتملؤنا ينشوة الصداقة الحميمة، فلا يمكن أن نصادق جمادا.
ومعرفتنا بالكون العابد تعرفنا بوظيفتنا، وتجعلنا نلهج بالتسبيح في حلقة ذكر الكون الواسع.
ومعرفتنا بالكون المسخر تجعلنا نتناول الأشياء من يد الله، لا من يد الطبيعة، ونتناول الأشياء بالله، لا بأيدينا.
ومعرفتنا بالكون المقروء تعبر بنا من الكون إلى المكون، وتزج بنا في رحاب الحضرة المقدسة، فنبصر من خلال الأشياء مشيئ الأشياء، فنصادق مع قطرات الندى، وتفتح الزهر، وهبوب النسيم، رب الكون ومبدعه.
