لقد خطر بعقول بعض الناس أسئلة عن الدنيا بما فيها من إنس وجن وشمس وقمر وليل ونهار، وعن الآخرة بما فيها من القبور وأحوال الموتى والشهداء والبرزخ والحشر والموقف والميزان والجنة والنار، وعن اليتامى وأوالهم، وعن أحوال أمم سبقت. هذه الأسئلة وإجابتها هي موضوع كتاب "الأجوبة" الذي نحن بصدده.
وهو عبارة عن كتابين لكل من الإمام الغيطي والزرقاني رحمهما الله، فكل منهما رفعت إليه أسئلة أجاب عنها.
أما الإمام الغيطي فوردت عليه مجموعتان من الأسئلة، وقد أجاب عن كل منهما على حدة، وقد بدأ كلًا من كتابيه بسرد الأسئلة التي وردت عليه، ثم أخذ بالإجابة عنها واحدًا تلو الآخر. وأما الإمام الزرقاني فقد وردت عليه الأسئلة نظمًا في نحو اثنين وسبعين بيتًا، تحتوي على ثلاث وخمسين سؤالًا، وقد أجاب عليها في نحو من ثلاث وخمسين بيتًا، ثم أتبعها بالإجابة نثرًا ليعم النفع بها.
وقد جنح الإمامان في تلك الأجوبة إلى الاختصار المفيد الدقيق، فإجابات مثل هذه الأسئلة مبعثرة في ثنايا بعض الكتب، مطولة غير مرجحة القول فيها. وقد قام كل من الغيطي والزرقاني بجمع هذه الأجوبة، فبين ورجح، ونجده يعزو الأقوال إلى أصحابها ومصادرها، وإذا عرض له سؤال ولم يكن له به علم قال: لم أقف عليه لقصوري. وهذا يرجع إلى أمانته العلمية، ودقته في الجواب.
