في روايته "المقدسي وشياطين الهيكل المزعوم" يكشف الأسير الفلسطيني عبد الله غالب البرغوثي عن واحدة من وسائل العبث الصهيوني بنسيج المجتمع الفلسطيني، وهي "السحر" ، فيتخذ من بطل الرواية خالداً الذي ورث مهنة العطارة من جدة، وعلوم التصدي لشياطين الهيكل المزعوم، مثالاً يُحتذى في المقاومة في إشارة من الروائي إلى أن اليهود لا يتركون وسيلة إلا استخدموها في سبيل إشاعة الفتن والفوضى بين سكان القدس "لكي يغادر أهل القدس أسوار القدس وأزقتها، مما يتيح لأولئك الشياطين إقامة هيكلهم المزعوم على أنقاض المسجد الأقصى، ومسجد قبة الصخرة المشرفة (...) لكي تبقى المدينة حكراً على اليهود من أتباع الشياطين، الذين يسعدون برؤية المسلمين والنصارى يعانون ويتعذبون من آثار سحرهم الأسود الملعون، سحر الشياطين والجان".
يقول الروائي عن عمله هذا "... هنا أقول أنا راوي الرواية، أن خالداً العطار ليس حالة فردية في مقاومة السحر والكهانة، بل هناك الكثير من الرجال الصالحين قمت بجمعهم معاً ليشكلوا مجتمعين بطلاً أو مخلصاً للمدينة المقدسة من أعداء الأمة الإسلامية من شياطين الهيكل المزعوم .. فهناك من بين الرجال الصالحين الذين شكلوا شخصية خالد العطار من استشهد على ارض الواقع أرض القدس المحتلة، وهناك من أُبعد عن المدينة المقدسة، وهناك من أُبعد عن فلسطين، وهناك من يمكث في أقبية سجون بني صهيون حتى يومنا هذا ...".
