الكتاني (1305 ؟ - 1382 هـ = 1888 - 1962 م)
محمد عبد الحي بن عبد الكبير ابن محمد الحسني الادريسي، المعروف بعبد الحي الكتاني: عالم بالحديث ورجاله.
مغربي، ولد وتعلم بفاس.
وكان منذ نشأته على غير ولاء للاسرة العلوية المالكة في المغرب، واعتقل سنة 1327 ه (1909 م) في (دار المخزن) ببلده.
ولما فرضت الحماية الفرنسية على المغرب، (1912) انغمس في موالاتها.
وحج، فتعرف إلى رجال الفقه والحديث في مصر والحجاز والشام والجزائر وتونس والقيروان.
وعاد بأحمال من المخطوطات.
وكان جماعة للكتب، ذخرت خزانته بالنفائس.
وضمت بعد سنوات من استقلال المغرب إلى خزانة الكتب العامة في الرباط فرأيت على كثير منها تعليقات بخطه في
ترجمة بعض مصنفيها أو التنبيه إلى فوائد فيها.
وجاهر بالبيعة لابن عرفة، (صنيعة الفرنسيين) بعد إبعاد محمد الخامس عن بلاده وعرشه.
ولما استقل المغرب (1955) كان الكتاني في باريس، فاستمر إلى أن مات بها.
له تآليف، منها (فهرس الفهارس - ط) مجلدان و (اختصار الشمائل - ط) رسالة، و (التراتيب الادارية - ط) مجلدان، استوعب فيه كتاب (تخريج الدلالات السمعية) لابي الحسن، علي بن محمد الخزاعي - انظر ترجمته في الاعلام - وزاد عليه أضعاف فصوله، وقد فاته الاطلاع على جزء منه في نحو ربعه، أرانيه فاضل في تطوان وأخبرني أن خزانة الرباط صورت نسخة عنه - وله كتب أخرى، منها (الكمال المتلالي والاستدلالات العوالي - ط) و (ثلاثيات البخاري - خ) في دار الكتب، و (مفاكهة ذوي النبل والاجادة - ط) و (وسيلة الملهوف - ط) و (البيان المعرب عن معاني بعض ما ورد في أهل اليمن والمغرب - ط) و (الرحمة المرسلة في شأن حديث البسملة - ط) و (لسان الحجة البرهانية في الذب عن شعائر الطريقة الاحمدية الكتانية - ط) تصوف.
وكان على ما فيه من انحراف عن الجادة في سياسته، صدرا من صدور المغرب ومرجعا للمستشرقين خاصة
