مجالس الصالحين والعلماء العاملين هي ينابيع للحكمة، ومنطلقات للهداية. وقد اعتنى أسلافنا في الزمان الماضي بتدوين كثيرٍ ممَّا كان يُلقَى في تلك المجالس من مواعظَ وحِكم وفوائد، وجمْعِها في سفْر يحفظها، لينتفع بها مَن جمَعَها، ويدوم نفعُها لكل مَن يقف عليها بعدَ ذلك. ومن العلماء الربانيين الذين اعتنى جلساؤهم وأصحابهم بتدوين كلامهم؛ الإمام الداعي إلى الله، العالم المحقق، والعارف البصير، السيد عبد الله بن علوي الحدّاد الحضرميّ. وقد جمع تلميذه الشيخ شهاب الدين أحمد بن عبد الكريم الشجّار الأحسائي كتاباً كبيراً دوّن فيه مجالس أستاذه الحدّاد، حوى نفائسَ من العلم والحكمة والسلوك. ثم جاء بلديُّ الشيخ الشجّار، العلامةُ الشيخ أبو بكر بن محمد المُلّا آل الواعظ الحنفي الأحسائي، المتوفى سنة 1270هـ، فانتخب من ذلك الكتاب نوادرَ فوائده، ورتبها في هذا الكتاب اللطيف، فقرّب للناس بهذا المنتخب علماً غزيراً، وكلاماً يعلوه النور والهدى.
