هذا الكتاب جزء قائم بذاته من سلسلة من الدراسات والنصوص التي تعنى بالتراث المغاربي والأندلسي. الغرض منها تسليط الضوء على إسهامات الغرب الإسلامي في الحضارة العربية الإسلامية بمختلف ألوانها، وتقديم مخطوطات هامة تُحَقَّقْ لأول مرة. والكتاب واحد من الكتب التراثية التي تصور المنجزات الفكرية للعلماء المسلمين وقد جاء محققاً، وجاءت عملية التحقيق ضمن ثلاثة مباحث، المبحث الأول المقدمة التاريخية لعصر المؤلف. أما المبحث الثاني فكان لدراسة المخطوط ولنهج المؤلف ومصادره ولطريقة بحثه. أما المبحث الثالث فقد كرّس لمتن المخطوط ابتداءً بمقدمة حتى مجموعة من الفهارس. وقد شمل متن المخطوطة عدة مطالب شملت المواضيع التالية: الدليل الجملي الذي يخرج المقلد بمعرفته من الخلاف الواقع، المصيب في العقليات واحد مع اختلاف أهل السنة كالأشعري والرازي في الأحوال نفياً وإثباتاً. التعلق التنجيزي والصلاحي للإرادة، الرضى والمحبة والإرادة، أقسام الحكم العقلي.
