جمع هذا الكتاب السيد أبو القاسم الخوئي معظم المسائل الشرعية المبتلى بها، وتعليقات المراجع العظام الأكثر تقليداً في هذا الزمن عليها،وضحها في جزئين، تحدث في الجزء الأول عن العبادات، وتطرق في الجزء الثاني إلى موضوع المعاملات التجارية وأحكامها ليكون رسالة جامعة تجمع آراء خمسة هم كبار مراجع هذا العصر لما في ذلك من أهمية كبرى لمعرفة الآراء المتعددة للمراجع مع ما في ذلك من تسهيل على العلماء والمؤمنين خصوصاً طلاب الحوزات العلمية. وقد إستخرج آراء المراجع العظام من رسائلهم العملية وجعلها في هامش هذا الكتاب. ونظراً لإعتماد السيد علي السيستاني عبادات منهاج الصالحين للسيد الخوئي فإن رأيه المذكور في العبادات مذكور بشكل دقيق ومضبوط وأما في المعاملات فقد إعتمد في بعض الأبواب على مناهج الصالحين للسيد الخوئي،وفي أبواب أخرى إعتمد على كتاب وسيلة النجاة للسيد الأصفهاني. وأما الشيخ حسين الوحيد الخراساني، ونظراً لإعتماده نفس كتاب منهاج الصالحين للسيد الخوئي في العبادات والمعاملات فإن رأيه المذكور في هذا الكتاب شامل وكامل. وأما بالنسبة لرأييي السيد الموسوي الخميني والسيد محمد سعيد الطباطبائي فإنهما لم يعتمدا كتاب منهاج الصالحين للسيد الخوئي.
